Protection from abuse orders

What is a PFA?

A protection from abuse (PFA) order is a civil order that protects from harm family or household members, sexual or intimate partners, or people who have a child in common. When necessary, you can obtain an emergency order or an ex parte temporary PFA, as well as a final PFA, which lasts up to three years.
